1. Overview & Acceptance
URL.Diet ("URL.Diet", "we", "us") provides URL shortening, link management, telemetry analytics, and may in the future provide QR code and related tools (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using url.diet, creating or using a short link or QR code, or interacting with any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
You may use URL.Diet only if you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and legally able to enter into a binding contract.
If we offer user accounts, you are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials confidential.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Promptly notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion if we believe these Terms have been violated or to protect the Service or other users.
3. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Content
You are responsible for the links, QR codes, destinations and content you create, shorten, tag, share, or manage through URL.Diet. You agree that you will not use the Service to:
- Direct to, promote, or facilitate any illegal activity, including malware, phishing, fraud, impersonation, or distribution of pirated or abusive content.
- Infringe or violate the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person or entity, including sharing content you do not have permission to use.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse others, or publish hate speech, extremist content, or content that incites violence or discrimination.
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk communications, or to mask the destination of such communications.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of any system or network, or attempting to bypass security or rate limits.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping in ways that overload or materially degrade the Service.
- Use the Service in high‑risk environments where failure could lead to death, personal injury, or serious property or environmental damage.
We may review, disable, or remove links, QR codes, or content, and may suspend or terminate access, if we believe (in our reasonable judgment) that they violate these Terms or pose a risk to users, URL.Diet, or the public.
4. Links, QR Codes & Your Content
URL.Diet does not host or control the content at the destination of a short link or QR code. We simply provide redirection and analytics. We are not responsible for, and do not endorse, any third‑party websites, applications, or services reached through URL.Diet links or QR codes.
As between you and URL.Diet, you retain any rights you have in the content and destinations you link to. By using the Service, you grant URL.Diet a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to use, store, copy, display, and process the URLs, link metadata, tags, and related information as needed to operate, improve, and protect the Service.
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to create and share the links and content you use with URL.Diet and that your use complies with all applicable laws and third‑party terms.
5. Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, software, code, systems, analytics, documentation, and branding (other than your content and third‑party content) are owned by URL.Diet or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
You may not copy, modify, create derivative works of, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except to the extent laws prohibit these restrictions.
6. Privacy & Data
Our collection and use of personal data in connection with the Service is described in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. By using URL.Diet, you acknowledge those policies and agree that we may process data as described there.
If you use URL.Diet to process data about others (for example, end users who click your links), you are responsible for complying with all applicable privacy and data‑protection laws in your use of the Service.
7. Service Changes & Availability
URL.Diet is an edge‑first service that may evolve over time. We may add, change, or remove features; impose or change limits; or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
We strive for high uptime but do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free from errors. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of critical destination data and analytics exports.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON‑INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, be available at any particular time or place, be uninterrupted or secure, or be free of errors or harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any analytics or telemetry data and you use that data at your own risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, URL.DIET AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE.
TO THE EXTENT ANY LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL BE LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless URL.Diet and its owners, employees, and partners from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your links, QR codes, destinations, or content; or (c) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
11. Suspension & Termination
You may stop using URL.Diet at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Service, or remove links or content, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, are using the Service in a way that creates risk for others or for URL.Diet, or as required by law.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will stop immediately. Some provisions of these Terms, by their nature, will continue to apply after termination (for example, ownership, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution).
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict‑of‑laws rules.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that is not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, USA, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may provide additional notice (such as a banner or email, where appropriate).
Your continued use of URL.Diet after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
14. Reporting Abuse & Malicious Links
We take abuse, malware, phishing and harmful content seriously. If you believe a URL.Diet link or QR code is being used for abusive or illegal purposes, please let us know so we can investigate and, where appropriate, disable the link.
How to Report Abuse
- Copy the URL.Diet link or QR code slug (for example, url.diet/abc123).
- Email us at abuse@url.diet or use the form on our Contact page.
- Include the short link and a brief description of why you believe it is abusive or unsafe.
We review abuse reports and may disable links or take other appropriate action at our discretion.
